Photo Workshop at South County Museum

Comp_1000-6796
Artifacts & Architecture
Join me for a photographic journey into the past. We have been given full access to the artifacts, animals, and architecture at the South County Museum, with diverse collection(s) dating from pre-European to1950. This local gem, hidden away in the back streets of Narragansett, has amazing collections of tools, farm machinery, household utensils, old cameras, clothing, arrowheads, even the Tin Man. Who knows, maybe a few of the animals will even pose for us.

Format: There will be a short presentation with photo tips followed by a “Walkabout Workshop,” around the lovely grounds, with demonstrations and suggestions regarding how best to portray the museum. Students will be encouraged to explore the cultural heritage of SCM for themselves. Many photo-ops! Bring a bag lunch.

This workshop is appropriate for all photography levels, even “Point and Shooters” Easy walking.
Register with me at janthephotoman@gmail.com or 783-8232.

Where: South County Museum, Narragansett
When: Saturday, June 9th from 9:30 to 12:30

Yeek!!! A field of dandelion in the backyard.

The light in the backyard... soft backlight in the first image, the second with morning sunlight, also backlighted, plus a texture overlay. Maybe a bit much. These shot with monochrome setting but imported at the default color in Lightroom. Macro lens, ISO 800, f/4 - 1/1500 of second to minimize camera shake and subject motion.
